Jellyboxd Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Jellyboxd is a client for Jellyfin servers. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: the developer does not collect any personal data.
What we don't do
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no profiling.
- No Jellyboxd account: the app has no backend of its own and never asks you to sign up with us.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Data stored on your device
To connect to your Jellyfin server, the app stores the following in the iOS Keychain, encrypted by the system:
- the server address, user name, access token and user id;
- the password of saved servers, used only to renew your session when the token expires;
- a random installation identifier, required by the Jellyfin protocol.
Preferences (such as streaming quality and language) and a local image cache are also kept on the device. You can clear the cache in Settings, and remove a saved server (with its password) or sign out at any time. Uninstalling the app removes preferences and cache, but iOS Keychain items may survive an uninstall: remove your saved servers in the app first if you want them deleted.
Network communications
- Your Jellyfin server: the app sends credentials, catalog requests and watch state (progress, played, favorites) only to the server you choose. How that data is handled depends on your server and whoever runs it.
- App updates: the app may check for updates through Expo Updates (expo.dev). The request contains technical information about the app (version, platform) and no personal data or content.
- Demo mode for Apple's review: the sample videos are hosted on archive.org and download.blender.org.
Local network
The app asks for local network access only to reach a Jellyfin server on your home network.
Children
The app does not collect data and is not intended for collecting data from children.

Informativa sulla privacy di Jellyboxd
Ultimo aggiornamento: 5 ottobre 2026
- Nessuna analitica, nessuna pubblicità, nessun tracciamento, nessuna profilazione.
- l'indirizzo del server, il nome utente, il token di accesso e l'identificativo utente;
- la password dei server salvati, usata solo per rinnovare l'accesso quando il token scade;
